Dairyland is lookint to investin 'green' technologied and expand its electricity generation from various renewable energy sources, including landfill gas, animal waste and hydroelectric Dairyland reported that its earnings for 2008 declinex to $11.3 million, compared with $14.3 million in 2007.
Managemen noted that fuel to operate Dairyland’z generating facilities, primarily continues to be Dairyland’ws largest annual expense. The rising costs contributed to anaverage 9.8 percengt increase in wholesale rates in 2008. Totak operating revenue for 2008 increasedto $373.8 million, up 14 percenty compared with $328.5 million in 2007. Electrix sales also increased in 2008, with totak sales up 8 percent. Dairyland Powefr provides wholesale electricity to 25 membeer distribution cooperatives and 16municipal utilities.
